5ème congrès biannuel - Biologie Prospective Santorini 2010

Avancées de la génomique fonctionnelle vers une médecine personnalisée/ Functional genomics towards Personalized Health care

After the success of the four last conferences:

2002: “From Genetic Variations to Risk Prediction and Pharmacogenomics”,
2004: “From Human Genetic Variations to Prediction of Risks and Responses to Drugs and to the Environment”,
2006: “From Human Genetic Variations to Prediction of Risks and Responses to Drugs and the Environment”,
2008: “Functional Genomics towards Personalized Health Care”,

we decided to organize a fifth meeting in 2010. It will be co-organized in collaboration with the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine (CSLM).

Please have a look through the scientific topics and the preliminary scientific programme. A short satellite meeting on genome wide association studies is also organized this year, previous to the Conference, by Philippe Froguel and Sophie Visvikis-Siest.

Les XIIIèmes Journées du Centre des Maladies du Sein de l’Hôpital Saint-Louis, présidées par les Docteurs Marc Espié et André Gorins, se tiendront les Jeudi 30 septembre et Vendredi 1er octobre 2010 au Pavillon Dauphine à Paris.

Madame le Professeur Martine PICCART, de l’Institut Jules Bordet de Bruxelles, a accepté d’en assurer la présidence effective et donnera une conférence inaugurale.

Madame Roselyne BACHELOT-NARQUIN, Ministre de la Santé et des Sports, a accepté d’accorder son haut patronage et d’être présente à l’ouverture du congrès.

Ces journées de Sénologie sont devenues un rendez-vous incontournable.

Le congrès intéresse en premier lieu les Oncologues et les Gynécologues, mais aussi de nombreuses disciplines concernées par la pathologie du sein, justifiant l’approche pluridisciplinaire de la sénologie clinique telles que l’Endocrinologie, la Génétique, l’Epidémiologie, l’Anatomopathologie, la Biologie et les disciplines connexes : Chirurgie – Radiologie – Radiothérapie – Médecine Interne. Ainsi sont harmonieusement mariées, clinique et sciences fondamentales.
 

Pour sa 6e année, l’EMAA (European Masters in Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine) sera le congrès de référence de la rentrée où les praticiens obtiendront les réponses a leurs attentes grâce à la qualité et la diversité du programme proposé par des experts européens et internationaux.

Cela inclut les toutes nouvelles procédures en Dermatologie et Chirurgie Esthétique ainsi que les dernières mises à jour en Médecine de Prévention et Anti-âge, des sessions de formation, des ateliers de démonstrations en direct, animés par des leaders d’opinion de ces domaines.

Ce congrès multidisciplinaire a pour objectif d’être un congrès très INTERACTIF où chaque communication saura correspondre à une application dans votre pratique quotidienne.

Considérant la demande croissante du public pour une médecine anti-âge efficace et sûre, (médecine de bien-être) un autre aspect important de l’EMAA cette année sera d’attribuer une part importante aux sessions éducatives afin d’offrir au praticien de l’esthétique et au médecin généraliste les bases nécessaires pour qu’ils proposent à leurs patients les traitements adaptés pour une « prise en charge globale du vieillissement ».

 During Targeting Mitochondria 2010, we will draw the attention to many contradictions and controversies and provide answers and perspectives of mitochondrial use as a target. The aim is also to highlight its applications and potential strategies in the prevention and treatment of many chronic diseases and pathologies.

In this conference, different sessions will be held:

• Mitochondrial dysfunctions in chronic diseases: recent advances and conclusions
• Mitochondria in practice: methods and instruments
• Strategies to target mitochondria
• Targeting mitochondria: recent clinical and therapeutics studies

Dear Colleagues,

Following the success of the previous meetings on dementia and other cognitive impairments in Parkinson’s disease (and other movement disorders) which were covered in Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Montreal, Salzburg and Dresden, we are now looking forward to our new congress on these topics. The upcoming congress will take place in Barcelona, Spain, 9-12 December, 2010.

Our aim is to discuss the new developments in the understanding of cognitive and psychiatric aspects in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. During our meeting in Barcelona we shall have an opportunity to deliberate on brain diseases and how they contribute to cognitive decline. We shall try to identify the specific psychological markers, if any, of Parkinson’s dementia and of dementia with Lewy bodies, and also the biochemical and genetic factors involved. The identification of cortical Lewy bodies in recent years has contributed to our understanding but at the same time raised new and still unanswered questions. The overlap with Alzheimer’s disease will be a central issue, as will be the neurochemical changes seen in these disorders.

Delirium, dementia, anxiety and psychosis frequently affect the lives of patients and caregivers even more than motor disturbances, and they therefore deserve special attention.

Besides cognitive impairment, patients with movement disorders frequently complain disturbances of the autonomic nervous system, REM sleep behavior disorders, and hyposmia to name just a few. All these aspects will be discussed in detail.

We encourage you to submit your abstract to the congress, thereby contributing to what we are confident will be a splendid scientific program.

Barcelona, the city of art and culture, will provide an exquisite background for an open exchange of ideas and presentation of new research findings.
