Les XIIIèmes Journées du Centre des Maladies du Sein de l’Hôpital Saint-Louis, présidées par les Docteurs Marc Espié et André Gorins, se tiendront les Jeudi 30 septembre et Vendredi 1er octobre 2010 au Pavillon Dauphine à Paris.

Madame le Professeur Martine PICCART, de l’Institut Jules Bordet de Bruxelles, a accepté d’en assurer la présidence effective et donnera une conférence inaugurale.

Madame Roselyne BACHELOT-NARQUIN, Ministre de la Santé et des Sports, a accepté d’accorder son haut patronage et d’être présente à l’ouverture du congrès.

Ces journées de Sénologie sont devenues un rendez-vous incontournable.

Le congrès intéresse en premier lieu les Oncologues et les Gynécologues, mais aussi de nombreuses disciplines concernées par la pathologie du sein, justifiant l’approche pluridisciplinaire de la sénologie clinique telles que l’Endocrinologie, la Génétique, l’Epidémiologie, l’Anatomopathologie, la Biologie et les disciplines connexes : Chirurgie – Radiologie – Radiothérapie – Médecine Interne. Ainsi sont harmonieusement mariées, clinique et sciences fondamentales.
 

The course will be interactive, with a lot of time devoted to questions, hands-on sessions, and discussions of live video-transmissions.
The first day will be devoted to revising the basics of echocardiography; the second and third days will describe how to use this technique to evaluate the hemodynamic status of a critically ill patient.

The objectives are for participants to:

Become familiar with using echocardiography for hemodynamic monitoring.
Discover the main echocardiographic vieuws obtained by the transthoracic and transesophagal approaches using presentations and hands-on sessions.
Understand the measurement and application of the main echocardiographic parameters of RV and IV systalic function.
Be able to assess cardiac filling pressures and fluid responsiveness non-invasively.
appresciate the advantages but also the limitations and pitfalls of the various indices.
learn how to use echocardiography in septic shock, ARDS, pulmonary embolism ...(applying basic and advanced parameters of hemodynamic evaluation).

 During Targeting Mitochondria 2010, we will draw the attention to many contradictions and controversies and provide answers and perspectives of mitochondrial use as a target. The aim is also to highlight its applications and potential strategies in the prevention and treatment of many chronic diseases and pathologies.

In this conference, different sessions will be held:

We cordially invite you to the 15th Annual Congress of the Belgian Society of Internal
Medicine (BVIG/SBMI) that will be held in Leuven, December 3 and 4, 2010. The congress will cover a wide variety of exciting topics in basic and clinical internal medicine. The first day, workshops, lead by experts, will deal with general internal medicine, endocrinology, radiology and nephrology. Furthermore, joint meetings with the Belgian Society of Oncology and the Working Group on Angiology will be held.

The plenary meeting on Saturday will give an update on the management of hyponatremia, tumor reversion, clinical studies, and the diagnosis of tropical diseases. Six free communications will compete for the Investigators Award. The winner of the prize of the best Belgian clinical internal medicine article (2009), Prof. A. Van Gossum, will conclude the lectures with a talk on colorectal screening.

The Departments of Intensive Care of University Hospital Centre of Liege are organizing the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Belgian Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SIZ) on endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition in the ICU. This one-day meeting will be held in Liege, Palais des Congrès, on Friday, December 3, 2010. About 400-500 participants are expected. The official language of the symposium is English.

The first edition of the scientific event, “Heart, Vessels and Diabetes - The European Conference”, will be held in Lisbon, from 9 to 11 December 2010.

The original approach of this event is that both cardiovascular and diabetes related issues will be tackled and debated within a single meeting at a European level thanks to the creation of this brand new unified forum. The International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine is organised by the department of Intensive Care Emergency Medicine of Erasme University Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles, in association with the Belgian Society of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (SIZ). The meeting is held every year in March. Started in 1980, this meeting has become established as one of the largest in its field, now attracting more than 5630 participants from countries world-wide.The objectives of this four day symposium are to provide participants with an up to date review of the most recent, clinically relevant, developments in research, therapy, and management of the critically ill.
The meeting is open to all physicians, nurses and other health professionals with an interest in critical care or emergency medicine.The accompanying scientific exhibition occupies some 4,000 m2 with 127 stalls.
